1989 Two wawas jedis called Luc Blondiau started up a new and unordinary adventure around the World Cup. They challenged the different universitary faculties students with soccer. The «World Cup » is to become the «Mons Cup» but at that time they didn’t know that they had just released a time bomb…

Some wawas jedis, all students at the Warocqué Faculty, have succeeded one another and the “Cup” has welcomed university students coming from all parts of Europe: Germans, Spanish, Italians, English, Scots, Czechs, and French… But also Belgians, like our friends from the Polytechnic Faculty, the Philosophy Faculty of ULB (Brussels University), students from Architecture and Industrial Engineering High Schools, etc.

The High Schools were invited to the Mons students event where sport, culture, and festivities were to reign during a week.

1999 - 2000 David Blampain and Frederik Damilot instaured culture, marketing, and Student Spirit. A building was put at their disposal. The Mons Cup grew and a new coordination centre facilitated new Wawas Jedis’ intensive training.

2002

After turbulences in 2001, the team of the Ferauge sisters allow to The Mons Cup to gain in maturity and style.

2005 - 2006

For two succesive years, the Mons Cup took place at the FC Havré. We would like to greatly thank the FC’s authorities for that.

2007

We were back to Mons! Our next tournament was to take place on both R.A.E.C Mons and A.D.E.P.S (at “Grand Large”) sites.
