The Warocqué Mons Cup, your winning partnership 2008

As every year since 19 years now the Warocqué Management Sciences Faculty motivated students from the Wawa’s student society organise the famous Mons Cup.

For the 20th edition, the Cup is to take place on the RAEC Mons fields, where we gained a big success during the previous years.

The sportive aspect represented by the student soccer tournament with an European dimension and 1,000 soccer players. The Mons Cup allows to join the High Schools (Bac +3) and the University (Bac+5) around a same thing: the round ball. This success is also due to the fact that the teams come from different places, so that there is a cultural melting at the same time.
The cultural and social aspect is essentially based on a thematic exhibition. Our partners in previous editions were namely Televie, Amnesty International, Les Iles de Paix, the European Union, etc.
The party aspect is represented during all the tournament by the 5,000 supporters and the atmosphere that reigns next to the fields. This aspect culminates at the closing and award party with 2,000 students.

Year after year, the right mix between those three aspects has permitted the Mons Cup to become what it is now.

Finally, the Mons Cup objective could be summarized by one of our Rector Mr Landercy’s saying: «Mens sana in corpore sano» - «A healthy mind in a healthy body»…
